Doris Trucilla Wiggins was born on December 7, 1931 to the proud parents of Wiley and Eva Wiggins Sr. Doris attended New Stanton High School and was a member of New Bethel AME Church. She was employed with Brewster Hospital for many years. Later she attended the Teachers College Columbia University in 1960 graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Administration. She also obtained a Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing from City College, NYC.

Doris departed this life on Sunday, July 2, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Eva Wiggins, Sr.; brothers, Wiley Wiggins, Jr. and Wilbert Wiggins, Sr.; sisters, Marilyn Anderson, Sadie Armstrong and Erma Rogers.

Doris leaves to mourn her passing a daughter, Patricia Pearson; sister, Mrs. Evangeline W. Gay; granddaughters, Tywana Broome (David) and LaTonya Mew (Christopher); 6 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, a loving and devoted sister-in-law, Delores Wiggins; two loving and caring nieces, Dee Wiggins and Arlena Smith; goddaughter, Ms. Lorna Riddock; and a host of other relatives and friends.


The funeral service for Doris Trucilla Wiggins will be held 11AM, Saturday, July 8th, 2017 at the Samuel C. Rogers, Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 North Main Street.
