Condolence From: Family of Walter and Sally Lunsford
Condolence: We, the family of Walter and Sally Lunsford of Columbus, Georgia are saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Emma Morgan. It is with heartfelt sympathy that we send our condolences to you on the loss of your loved one. Being her next door neighbors at American Beach allowed for great memory building moments over the years. Mrs. Morgan, along with her husband, Frank and son, Frank, Jr. will always be a part of our memories of fun times at 'the Beach'. May God bless you during this difficult time and may He bless you always.

Condolence From: Marsha Phelts
Condolence: Emma Holley Morgan was a friend and neighbor of mine for well over a half century. I spent my first honeymoon at her beach home in 1963. In Emma you couldn't find a more faithful friend nor a more ferocious enemy and I've been on both sides of her list. Through the years I fondly recall countless deeds of kindness...Emma worked with you to the end to accomplish goals, I'll always rememberwith her services in the Jacksonville Branch American Association of University Women during the time that I serrved as Branch president. Because of Emma, our membership reached its highest with over 300; Emma served as chairman of the Educational Foundation and of course she raised more money for scholarships from our Branch than had been raised to that time.
Emma was the pivotal spoke in the American Beach wheel of endurance and longevity as an African American Beach enclave. After passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, Emma decried the sale of land to non blacks. As properties sold, Emma and Frank Morgan picked up lots by the dozen becoming the largest property owners outsided of the Afro and then, they even owned more than the Afro. And like the Afro---Emma determined who bought in to the Historic African American Beach community that she devoted her cause to preserving. May God continue to bless Emma and her offspring. With fondest memories, Marsha Dean Phelts
