Obituary for Eugene Foster Jr.
Eugene Foster Jr. was born on March 29, 1932 in Jacksonville, Florida to Eugene Foster Sr. and Marie Alexander Foster. He attended the local schools of Duval County and later joined the United States Navy traveling all over the world. After serving his country, Eugene returned to Jacksonville and became employed with the Jacksonville Shipyard, where he retired after many years of dedicated service. Following an engagement, Eugene married Delores Briggs, and they were married for 15 years.
Eugene departed this life on Thursday, November 24, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mae Annie Dowell.
Eugene leave memories to be cherished by his wife, Delores Foster; children, Leo Foster (Cheryl), Cleveland A. Griffin, Denise Foster Powers (Ian), Eugenia Foster, Michael Foster, Tony Mitchell, Syteria Brown (Tim), Terry Mitchell, Eugene Foster II; father and mother-in-law, Eli Briggs; mother-in-law, Doretha Briggs; sister, Pauline Brown; grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The funeral service for Eugene Foster Jr. will be held 11:00 am SATURDAY, at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main St. The visitation will be held 5 - 7:00 pm, Friday, at the mortuary. Interment in Restlawn Cemeteries. Please sign the family guest book @ www.tswarden.com. Arrangements in care of Tyrone S.
