Obituary for Frank Luster Jr.

Frank Luster Jr.
“I expect to pass through this world but once, therefore any good that I can do or any kindness that I can show to anyone, let me do it now, for I shall not pass this way again.”
A Man of Service, Living the Simple Life
Mr. Frank Luster, Jr. lived a life of service to mankind and faith to his God. He ended the final chapter of his earthly life as he lived it, full of dignity and peace, on Sunday, August 28, 2011, 10:20 a.m. at the Community Hospice’s Morris Center for Caring in Jacksonville, FL.
Mr. Luster was born on March 29, 1932 in Ocilla GA to the late Mr. Frank Luster, Sr. and Mrs. Julia M. Everette Luster. He was reared in Berrien County, GA and there attended the public schools. He joined the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Alapaha, GA at an early age; and proudly served his country in the United States Armed Forces during the Korean War. He received an honorable discharge from the U. S. Army in 1954.
Mr. Luster moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1955 where he met Florence Brunson. They were married on November 23, 1957. He united with Central Metropolitan Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in 1958 and immediately began a journey of dedicated and faithful service on the local, district and annual conference (region) level of the C.M.E. Church. There was nothing that he would not do to help his Church and the people. He served from maintenance to board chairman to usher to Sunday School Superintendent. He was a good leader as well as a good follower. He was a disciple of Christ.
Mr. Luster was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Luster, Sr., a sister Mrs. Elizabeth Brown and two brothers, Hiawatha and James Luster. He leaves to cherish his legacy of faith and service, a devoted wife, Rev. Florence B. Luster (who served as his caregiver), Jacksonville, FL; three daughters, Deborah Luster Dickenson, Jacksonville, FL.; Sheila (Rev. Harlan) Jones, Los Angeles, CA; Antoinette (Cecil) Bransford, Nashville, TN; One son, Ret. L/C Frank (Christa) Luster III, Chesapeake, VA. Nine grandchildren, Jasmine (Randy) Gardner, Alisia Ervin, Bridgette Ervin, Aisha Bransford, Marcus Luster, Frank Luster IV, Spencer Bransford, Cameron Luster, and Lathan Bransford; two great grandchildren, Olivia Jackson and Cayson Gardner; one brother, Lemoria (Carolyn) Lester; one sister-in-law, Izola Luster; two nieces, seven nephews; one goddaughter, Valencia Echoles; a very special forever friend, Mr. Henry Rivers; his sitters Tony Bryant and Doris Pitts; many sons and daughters of the Church; and other relatives and friends who are too numerous to name.
Yes, you are missed, but we will see you again in Heaven. You’re an ambassador gone home to be with the Lord. Amen.
