Life Story for Gloria Crawford (Henderson)

Ms. Gloria Henderson Crawford was born to the late Mozell Smith and the late Henry Henderson on January 15, 1943 in Jacksonville, FL. She attended the public schools of Duval County and graduated from New Stanton Senior High School, Class of 1961. Furthering her education, Ms. Crawford received her Bachelor of Science in English from Edward Waters College of Jacksonville, FL. She earned a Master of Science in Counseling from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University of Tallahassee, Florida.
As one of Duval County’s Outstanding Educators, Ms. Crawford was employed by Duval County School Board as an English/Language Arts Teacher for a number of years. Ms. Crawford served as an English teacher at J.E.B. Stuart Junior High School and lastly at N.B. Forrest High School. After 30 years of dedicated service, Ms. Crawford retired in 1999. Ms. Crawford was a member of King Solomon United Baptist Church, Vision Impressions Support Group, Red Hat Society and Florida Christian Fellowship of the Blind.
Ms. Gloria Henderson Crawford peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Henry Crawford, Jr. (Sandra), Ms. Zedra Crawford, Christopher Crawford and Mrs. Kelli Rodriguez (Juan); grandchildren, Julius Denson, II (Benea), Miss Candice Crawford, Diamante Brown and Justin Crawford; great-grandson, Julius Denson, III; brother, Henry Henderson and sister, Mrs. Twilla Mosley (Anthony); a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
