The funeral service for Gloria Stamper will be held 11:00 AM FRIDAY at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2730 Edgewood Ave W. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.. Life Story for Gloria Stamper

Gloria Dean (Patterson) Stamper was born in Jacksonville, Florida on April 7, 1938 to the late Benny and Vineta Patterson. She later met and married Hillard E. Stamper, Jr.

Gloria attended and graduated from Old Stanton High School and continued her education at Edward Waters College, where she graduated in 1964 receiving a degree in Health Science. Gloria was the owner of Stamper’s Haven boarding home, serving over 40 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Gloria departed this life on May 9, 2014 and was preceded in death by her parents; Benny and Vineta Patterson; her husband, Hillard Stamper; brother, William Patterson Jr.; sister, Ruth Mae Cuffee.

Gloria leaves to cherish her memories; five children, Vera Stamper Owens (Charles), Bruce Stamper (Viola), Vaughn Jeff Stamper(Marcia), Derrick Stamper (Savonna) and Roderick Stamper (Elaine); grandchildren, Tameshia, Ronetta, Jerome, Tyrell, Sharetta, Martina, Adrian, Cherelle (Molly), Jakari, Andre, Austin; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn, Frances, Virginia; brothers, Issac, Junior; a host of other relatives and friends.
