Gwendolyn "Elaine" Taylor was born in Saint Petersburg, Florida on September 27, 1961 to Gladys Jean Brooks. She was the second oldest of five girls. Elaine’s birth family relocated to Flint, Michigan when she was just 11 years old, wherein she continued to grow and thrive into her vivacious adult years. Elaine graduated from Mott Adult High School and worked various jobs through the City of Flint and surrounding areas. Her later years were lived out back in her home state of Florida, Jacksonville. Elaine remained eternally devoted to her children, family and friends.

Elaine was preceded in death by her two sons, Larry Jean Taylor, Jr., and Tavallas Terrell Taylor; mother, Gladys Brooks; grandmother, Georgia Graham; nephew, Demarcus Graham; and granddaughter, Baby Taylor.

Elaine leaves to cherish her sweet memory: Johnny Graves, Sr., common law husband of 30 years, Jacksonville; two sons, Anthony (Alice) Graham of Houston, Texas, and Antwann Taylor of Jacksonville; two daughters, Shanietha (Michael) Dimmonds, and Nadia (Taylor) Freeman both of Jacksonville; five granddaughters, Ganessa, and Ava Freeman, Aaliyah, Quaniesha, and Marianna Taylor; and two grandsons, Aaron Graham, and TaVallas Taylor, Jr.; four sisters, Inez Graham, Marique (Lil'bit) Graham, Ann Graham all of Flint/Fenton, Michigan, and Marcy (Michael) Edwards of Columbus, Ohio; Elaine also leaves to cherish her sweet-sweet memory many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, countless cousins, and friends in the states of Florida, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee. Elaine loved laughing, cooking, being with her family, having fun and the giving of gifts.
