Gwendolyn Turner was born June 1, 1939 in Jacksonville Florida. She was the daughter of the late Rhudolph D. Scott and Ruby Polk.

Gwen graduated from Stanton High School and attended Edward Waters College. She retired from Duval County Public Schools after 32 years.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Bertha Lee Scott and Doris Richardson.
She leaves to cherish her memories sons, Reginald J. Thomas and Roderick F. Mills; daughters, Shawn A. Scott, Vonda V. Brown; siblings, Rhudolph D. Scott (Deloris) and Inez Wright also a host of five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and a dear friend for many years Mrs. Mary Clayton.
