Obituary for Hallie Benjamin "Ben" Seymore

Hallie Benjamin "Ben"  Seymore
Hallie Benjamin Seymore was born in Colleton County, South Carolina on September 23, 1921 to proud union of Hallie Seymore and Annie Glover Seymore. As the eldest son, he began working in the tobacco fields at a very early age to help support his family.
Around 1944, he married the former Liza Folk. To this union four children were born. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Norma and two sons Donelle and Benjamin Seymore.
He left South Carolina and move to New York City where he was employed by Pepsi Bottling Company for three years. Around 1960, he relocated to Jacksonville, FL. Upon relocating to Jacksonville, he began to work in the construction industry for a host of local companies. During his career he helped build local landmarks such as, Shands Hospital, Jacksonville Landing and the main annex for the Health Department.
He met and entered a long term loving relationship for over 20 years with Iola “Sweethoney” Miller. Together they had four children and he inherited ten step-children. His baby girl, Jeanette Miller and “Sweethoney”, preceded him in death.
He also had a brief and loving relationship with Inez Williams. Together they had two sons. His youngest son, Bruce Seymore and Inez Williams, preceded him in death.
He will be dearly missed by his family. Left to cherish his memory are his five children: Ronelle (Loretta) Seymore, Bamberg, SC., Paul Bennett, Atlanta, GA., Marichal (Alisa) Seymore, Jacksonville, FL., Shelia (Willie) Pennick, Jacksonville, FL., Pamelia Seymore, Atlanta, GA. Nine step-children: Edward Bennett, Willie (Jean) Bennett, Ora James, Margaret Baker, Barbara Roberts, Frankie Mae Drayton, Mytheria Johnson, Phillip( Phillis) Miller, Claudette Kirtz,. Grandchildren: Desiree Bennett, Danielle Seymore, Ashley and Alicia Seymore, McKeisha Bennett, Nazariah Jones, Marichal, Xavier, Kaleb and Kirsten Seymore, Chelsea and Wilshem Pennick, Keenen, Krystian, Khamaya Harvey, Khyree Seymore, Kyle and Heaven Iola Hanson, Markeen Miller, KeShara and Jade Hicks, Sir Jamez Stevens, Kashif Stevens, who preceded him in death; Great- Grandchildren Ke’rhan Hicks, Kyra and Khree Bennett;25 Step-Grandchildren; In-laws: Dorothy Seymore, Brooklyn, NY, Ethanell Seymore Ehrhardt, SC., Perry (Evelyn) Folk, Norman (Marie) Folk, Paul (Bertha) Folk, Kever (Gwendolyn) Folk, Lennon (Lena) Folk, Leada Mae Wilson, Mazzie Wilson all of South Carolina; Special Love ones Louise Wright, Barbara Loadholt, Francis Bennett, sitter Theresa Spencer and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends
