Jake McCants, Jr. was born on November 16, 1933 to the late Jake McCants, Sr. and Louise Frazier in Arcadia, South Carolina. He graduated from Howard High School where he served as photo editor of the yearbook and sang in the Glee Club. He also attended Walker Business College. Jake departed this life on Thursday, June 25, 2015.

Jake leaves to cherish his memories his children, Sabrina McCants, Jake McCants, III (Monica), Clay McCants (Shirley), Armel McCants (Gloria); sisters, Pauline Grate, Dorothy Beale, Shirley McCants; brother, Clayden McCants; twelve grandchildren, Jacobia, Jabari, Jonathon, Aleshia, Jake IV, Brandon, Demetrius, Clay Jr., Cladesha, Armel Jr., Antoine and Cornelia; nine great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.

The funeral service for Jake McCants Jr. will be held 11:00 am Thursday, July 2nd, 2015 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street JACKSONVILLE, FL 32206. The visitation will be 10:00 am 11:00 am , Thursday, July 2nd, 2015 at the Funerals By T. S. Warden 4315 North Main Street Jacksovnille, FL 32206. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
