Obituary for James "Hardy" Johnson Jr.

James "Hardy"  Johnson Jr.
James Hardy Johnson, Jr. was born on April 28, 1926 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late William and Virginia Little. James accepted Christ into his life and was a faithful member of Word Vine Christian Fellowship, Inc., under the leadership of Bishop Larry W. Minor. He was a graduate of Old Stanton High School, Class of 1944. James served in the United States Army in World War II. After years of service, he furthered his career at Jefferson Smurfit where he served as a Corrugator Manager, later retiring after 45 years of service.

James departed this life on Monday, December 5, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kenneth Mae Johnson on December 28, 2008.

James leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted son, James Kenneth Johnson (Denise); grandson, Kenneth DeShay Johnson (Kandace); two great-grandchildren, DeShay Frazier and Jaelah Johnson; sister-in-law, Muzetta Butler (Jimmy); brother-in-law, Herbert Morton; cousin, Gregory Clair; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends.

The funeral service for James Johnson, Jr. aka "Hardy" will be held 11:00 am THURSDAY, at the Word Vine Christian Fellowship, 2633 Van Gundy Rd.
