Obituary for JD "Man" Baker

JD "Man"  Baker
JD “Man” Baker was born on July 25, 1962 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to the late JD Washington and Louise Baker. He was a 1980 graduate of Mitchell High School in Memphis, Tennessee. Immediately following graduation, JD served in the United States Navy where he received an honorable discharge in 1992. He later married his loving and devoted wife, Theresa “Lil Mama” Baker. His creative gifts were cooking and grilling. JD enjoyed making others smile and laugh by telling jokes.

JD departed this life on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sally Hall and Izola Metcalf (Ishmel); two brothers, Homer and Levi Baker; and his dear aunt, Rosie Lee Cole.

JD memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Theresa Baker; siblings, Marie "Stine" (Jesse) Easley, Earl (Anne) Baker, R.B. "Charles" (Brenda) Baker, and Dicey (Jerome) Hall; three children, BJ, Tori (Patricia), and Teneshia "Tiara" (Rashine); several grandchildren, including Poppa's sidekick Amri "Amtrak" Waring; father-in-law, King (Deborah) Cannon Sr.; mother-in-law, Jeanette (Willie) McCardy; two sister-in-laws, Frankie Baker, Dorthea (Jeff) Gresham, and Jackie Cannon; four brother-in-laws, King Cannon Jr., Adrian (Kashia) Cannon, Rodney Cannon and Jason Cannon; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his loving friends, Christopher, John, and Bobby just to name a few.

The funeral service for JD Baker "Man" will be held 11AM, Friday, December 16th, 2016 at the Samuel C. Rogers, Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street . The visitation will be 5 - 8PM , Thursday at the mortuary. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery. Please sign the family guest book and view the video tribute @ www.tswarden.com.
