Jerry Simpson Jr. was born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 31, 1951, to Jerry Simpson, Sr. and Precious Robinson Simpson. He was educated at Oakland Elementary School and Matthew William Gilbert High School.

Jerry accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Corinthians Baptist Church. As a young adult, he united with First Baptist Church of Oakland. In 1988, he joined Bethel Baptist Institutional Church.

Jerry was a lover of Statistics, US History, and Economics. He could hold an intelligent conversation with any one on any topic. His greatest joy was being a father and grandfather. He was a member of ILA Local 1408 and the Eastside Social Club.

Jerry departed this life on February 5, 2019. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his five siblings, Ezekial, Lindell, Samuel, Mary and Bernard.

Jerry leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted daughter, Carolyn Simpson Harold (Claude); two sons, Montroes Fulton (Latoya) and Narada Randolph; five grandchildren, Cameron and Courtney Harold, Tony and Saniyha Fulton and Mya Randolph; two nephews, Jerry Simpson (ShaRonda) and Samuel Simpson; two nieces, Sandra Simpson and Precious Lacey (Delton); 3 great nephews, Tyrann Payne, Ja’Quan Walker and Aiden Simpson; 3 great nieces, Calvarey Baker, Ra’naya Sablon and Ava Simpson; a host of other relatives including devoted cousins, Thelma Ceasar, Polly Jordan, Pinky Simpson-Zackery and Elmira Simon; loving friends including, Ray Anki, Earl Williams, his best friend for over 60 years, Major Baker; supportive neighbor, Felicia Guy and a host of other family members and friends.

The funeral service for Jerry Simpson, Jr. will be held 10AM, Wednesday, February 13th, 2019 at the Bethel Baptist Institutional Church 215 Bethel Baptist Street.
