Obituary for JETTIE Lee LEGGETT III

JETTIE Lee LEGGETT III
Brother Jettie “Jimmy” Lee Leggett, III was born on August 9, 1959 to the late Jettie Lee Leggett, Jr. and Ella Mae White. Jimmy was raised and educated in Jacksonville, Florida where he also made a living with a variety of jobs ranging from chef to security officer. He will be remembered for his calmness and pleasant smile.

During his adult years in April 1987, Jimmy accepted Christ Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized into Christ. Then immediately he faced with trials presented by the adversary. When Jimmy came to himself, he then fully prepared himself for the path we all must walk. He became a very active member of the Church of Christ. He stated attending worship service regularly, leading prayers, and participating in spreading the gospel. Also Jimmy worked diligently in a group ministry of the Lord’s church known as Abraham’s Sons and Sarah’s Daughter.

Jimmy passed quietly in the waiting arms of our Lord and Savior during the early hours of January 14, 2017. Jimmy surrendered to a lengthy illness and was comforted during his transition toward a new beginning by his loving sister, Mary. He was also preceded in death by his father, Jettie Lee Leggett, Jr.; mother, Ella Mae Leggett; brother, Willie “Herschey” Herschel Esters.

Jimmy leaves to honor his memory, his daughter, Candice Baker; a sister, Mary Esters-Moore both of Jacksonville, Florida; nephew, Tquan S. Moore (Leahanna) of Ft. Worth, Texas; brother-in-law, H. Lee Moore of Navarre, Florida; a lifelong high school friend, Ricky Jenkins of Jacksonville, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and many spiritual brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.
