John Hickson, Jr., (“Big Daddy”) departed this life on July 10, 2013 at the age of fifty-nine. John was born on September 18, 1953 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late John and Gertrude Hickson. Growing up he was not a religious person but he recently accepted Christ. He attended Duval County Public Schools and graduated from New Stanton High School in 1971.

John retired from Perdue Office Furniture Company after 36 years of dedicated service, where he worked his way up from a helper to a warehouse manager. After retiring from Perdue he graduated from Heritage School of Pharmacy in 2010. John was affectionately known to his family and friends as Eightball, Crusher, and Bubba.

John was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gloria Jean Hickson. John leaves to mourn his wife, Sandra Hickson; son, John Hickson; daughters, Wanda, Rhonda, & Bridgette; brothers, Albert Patterson & Richard Patterson (Cassandra); sisters, Vivian Murray, Johnette Batten, Claudette Wright, Darleen and Kim Hickson; brother-in-laws, Michael Jones, Sr. (Andretta) & Neil Jones; Uncle, Joe Sherman; two life-long friends, Frankie Oliver & Earl Jackson; and a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
