The funeral service for Lena Mae Bridges will be held 11AM, Saturday at the The Sanctuary at Mt. Calvary 4751 Walgreen Rd. The visitation will be 5 - 8PM, Friday at the mortuary. Life Story for Lena Mae Bridges

Lena Mae Bridges was born June 3, 1938 to Lula Mae Walden and Bill Hines in Wadley, Georgia. There, she attended Wadley High School. She eventually moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she met Raymond Bridges and became united in holy matrimony.

Lena accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined Greater Jerusalem Baptist Church. Later, she established membership with Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and remained a faithful member under the leadership of Dr. John Allen Newman until her health began to decline.

Lena was a fervent, affectionate, and supportive mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She answered the call of her heavenly father on May 20, 2011.

Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Bridges, Sr.; three sons, Raymond Bridges, Jr., Dennis Lee Bridges, and Willie Walden Bridges; and one brother, Curtis Walden.

The precious memories of Lena Mae Bridges will be cherished by her loving daughters, Barbara Bridges and Carla Jordan; devoted sons, Ralph Bridges, Sr. and Leon Bridges; grandchildren, Marlena Porter (James, Jr.), Ralph Bridges, Jr., Celena Sibley, Alexander Sibley, III, Raymond Riggins, Deidra Wynn, Shenyta Pinckney, and Shamika Baker; great-grandchildren, Alexander, IV and Tyler Sibley, James Porter, III and Armiya Bridges; sisters, Rebecca Jones of Miami, FL, Johnnie Mae Walden of Wadley, GA, Annette Henry (Will), Gwen Clark (Larry) of Swainsboro, GA; brothers, Edward Walden (Martha) and Bonnie Walden (Roxanne) of Harrisburg, PA; uncle, Jack Walden of Wadley, GA; aunt, Mildred Lewis of Harrisburg, PA; sister-in-law Edith Powell (Johnnie); god-son, Jermaine Whitaker; caring friends, Maxine Baker, Brenda Dix, Maggie Guyton, and Pearl Palmer, and a host of sorrowing nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
