Leon Carlyle Johnson, Sr, 75, passed away on January 17, 2012. He was born August 13, 1936 in Columbia, South Carolina to Maceo P. and Ella J. Johnson. Leon graduated from Stanton High School in 1954 and attended Edward Waters College.
He served in the Army and retired from The United States Postal Service in 1992 after 36 years of dedicated service.
He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his loving wife of 52 years Barbara Green Johnson, son Leon C. Johnson (Anetta), daughter Michelle E. Johnson, five grandchildren, Daunte', Darius, Ru'Sheria, Tomeka and Shaquana, three great-grandchildren; brothers, Maceo Johnson (Ida), David Johnson (Sandra), Theodore Johnson (Laurie) and Kenneth Johnson and sister Josephine Bridges; two sister-in-laws, Rosalyn Green and Wilamena Green. He also leaves to mourn his aunts,
nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends, including special friends John and Trixie Andrews.
Visitation will be held 3-6 PM, TODAY, at the mortuary. The celebration of Leon C.
