Levern  "Sporty"  Thompson
Levern “Sporty” Thompson was born on February 22, 1955, in MacClenny, Florida to Rufus and Ruby Mae (Hicks) Thompson. Levern graduated from Andrew Jackson Senior High School, class of 1973 and worked for many years as a brick mason. He had a quiet spirit with a great sense of humor.

Levern went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, October 20, 2014, after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Thompson.

Levern leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, Sinekqua “Nikki” (Brian) Price; three grandchildren, DeAija, DeAviaan and Elijah; mother, Ruby Mae Harris; siblings, Barbara Reese-Way, James Lee (Mona) Thompson, Gedon Thompson-Blue, Gwendolyn (Fredrick) Nelson, Letitia Harris, Ruby (Bernard) Harris and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Levern Thompson will be held 11AM, Wednesday at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church 3738 Winton Drive. The visitation will be 5 - 7PM, Tuesday at the mortuary.
