Louis Washington
A Tribute To A Life Well Lived
A legacy, a heritage, remembering a life well lived.
Louis Washington
“As for me and my house we will serve the Lord”
Joshua 24:15

Louis Washington was welcomed into the loving embrace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of February 24, 2016. He was a beloved father, faithful friend, strong provider, and dutiful husband. With all the trials and triumphs, tears and joys, and mountains and valleys that are God’s promise throughout this mortal journey, no man lived a better life. He was as patient as he was kind, forgiving as he was respected, and as honest as he was well loved. The family and friends he leaves behind will eternally feel his absence.

Louis Washington was born on January 30, 1942 to the late Johnny and Elder Chinna R. Washington in Odessa Florida. He was one of twelve siblings and is preceded in death by four sisters: Lucile McDonald, Fluorine Washington, Linda Box, and Mary Washington; two brothers: Joe Washington and Charlie Washington.

Louis was raised in Plant City, Florida where he attended Marshall High School. One of Louis’ great talents was the gift of music and he fervently pursued this passion after being accepted into Florida A&M University on a music scholarship. Louis became a member of the Florida A&M marching 100 and mastered a variety of musical instruments including the trombone, piano, and trumpet. He graduated from Florida A&M University with a Bachelors in music.

Louis was a man devoted to his family and raised with a love and respect for the church. He joined the Mattox Revival Center under the tutelage of the late Bishop Thomas Rouse, Jr. He leaves to mourn his passing a loving and devoted wife: Edna Washington; seven children: Louis Leon Washington of Jacksonville FL, Dr. Dione Washington of Jacksonville FL, Dawn Washington of Jacksonville FL, Dr. Andre Washington of Jacksonville FL, Angela (Karry) Dickens of Lakeland FL, Michelle (Larry) Marshall of Lakeland FL, and Louis Washington, Jr. of Plant City FL; three godchildren: Pamela Hayes, Rev. James Hayes, Jr., and Henry Mckinnon of Jacksonville FL; one sister: Bernice Washington of Plant City FL; four brothers: Charles (Evelyn) Washington of Lakeland FL, Willis James Washington of Plant City FL, Johnny (Catherine) Washington of Tampa FL, and Ernest (Lois) Washington of Plant City FL; two sisters-in-law: Ida Porter (Sammy) and Nita Wymes (Lonnie) of Wewahitchka FL; two brothers-in-law: Decon Lonnie Wymes and Sammie Porter, Jr. of Wewahitchka FL; and a old and dear friend, Willie Williams of Miami FL; He leaves to cherish his memory 18 grandchildren: Karmiec Murray (Eddie), Bianca Dickens, Ramson Oliver, Jr., Brent Oliver, McKeila Oliver, Jasmine Washington, Lutrell Washington, Louis Washington, Brandy Washington, Diamond Washington, Corria Washington, Brittany Washington, Keyshell Washington, Jaylin Washington, Marquiez Washington, Christina Washington, Cierra Washington, Andre Washington, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
