Sister Margaret Jean Hay was born January 9, 1941 in Slocomb, Alabama to the
late Roosevelt Williams and the late Alvone McGowan Williams. She answered
the called to God on April 30, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. She was educated in the Duval
County Public School System, where she received outstanding recognition in
sports, and was the Captain of the Drill Team. Born an only child , she was
blessed with three daughters, thirteen grandchildren and twenty-five greatgrandchildren.
She was affectionately known as "Big Mama" to her great-grands,
and will truly be missed by all. Since 2008, she faithfully served as a member
of the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church until her health failed. Even
throughout her illness, she was never one to complain.
She leaves to cherish her love with fondness and everlasting memories:
Husband, Mr. Willie Hay, Daughters, Sharon Peterson (Tyrone), Patricia Williams
(Frank), Debbie Belton (Ernest), Aunt, Sarah Platt and a host of cousins and
other relatives and friends.
