Life Story for Marian Hall

Her Life

Marian Marie Walthour-Hall was born in 1920 to the late Judio Williams and Katie Walthour-Richardson in Liberty County, Georgia. She was married to Clarence Lee Hall, Sr. who preceded her in death. Together, they had two children; Clarence Lee Hall, Jr. and Kaytrina Hall-Johnson. As a strong woman of God, she instilled values in her children and encouraged unity and family ties.

Her Work

Affectionately known as Mama Hall, she was a faithful member of the Greater New Mt. Lilla Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Clarence Hester. Sister Hall loved the bible and lived according to the word, “God's followers should work together with their spiritual gifts as a body to build up the church.” Sister Hall was very active and used her spiritual gifts in many ways including serving as a deaconess, a missionary, and as District I secretary. She didn’t stop there for she also sang in the choir. Aside from the church, she was a pillar in her community. For most of her life, she had a hand in raising other children. She provided a Christian environment which allowed her to nurture and shape the lives of many.

Her Departure

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:6 & 7. After a lengthy illness, Sister Hall departed this life on March 26th at the tender age of 90.

Gone but not forgotten

She leaves to cherish her memory: a daughter, Kaytrina Hall-Johnson (Atlanta); a son, Clarence Lee Hall, Jr. (Jacksonville); a son-in-law, Timothy Johnson; three grandchildren; Kendall Marie Johnson, Clarence Hall III, and Jensen Johnson; a very special first cousin, Eunice Williams. She will be sorely missed by many including a host of cousins, friends and other relatives.
