Haiti Had Lost An Important Citizen.

I was around 14 years old when I fisrt saw her,but I knew her father, who had a barber shop at Rue 22 C,four years earlier. He was my father's friend.Marie was a respectful and elegant person. For years, she served her country in the education field, more specifically,at the Carnage Nuns School. There she taught many generations of kids who became useful to the country, but she herself,as it was the case for many others of the same profession, was getting paid peanuts. That's why,I believe, she decided to travel to the US leaving behind her beloved daughter Mommie who was well taken care of by her parents, especially by her younger sister Marie Linda Ducard;I was an eyewitness of Linda's love for her little niece.I don't know about Jeannine's services to the U.S.A.,since I haven't seen her for more than three decades after her departure fom Haiti, however I am certain that she served her native land with competence and dignity by giving to the kids there the most precious gift of all :knowledge. Her passing is not only a huge lost for family and friends, but it is also one for her native country Haiti. It is with a broken heart that we see going to the other side. Our deep regrets to the Ducard Family.
