Marvin Hiawatha Shepard, was born on May 5, 1916, to the late Jim Shepard and Annie Coffey, in Fackler, Alabama. After completing his schooling, he served in the United States Army. Mr. Shepard, was employed by Graham Jones Paper Company, where he retired after many years. He also had a love for gardening.
Mr. Shepard, gave his life to Christ at an early age, moved to Jacksonville, Florida where he became a member of West Friendship Baptist Church. He later joined Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church, and became a deacon. On Wednesday, December 31, 2014, God called Deacon Marvin Shepard home. He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary, Sarah and Carrie.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a sister, Coreba Lumpkin of Cleveland, OH; his devoted nephew, Samuel Berry; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Marvin Hawatha Shepard will be held 11AM, Saturday at the Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church 10325 Interstate Center Drive.
