Obituary for Michael James Bowman

Michael James  Bowman
Born in Apalachicola, Florida on January 4, 1953, Michael James Bowman always beamed a smile of joy and led a life of happiness to all who knew him. Your presence today proves that he touched you in some way over the past fifty-nine years.
He attended the local schools in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from William M. Raines High School, class of 1971. Michael served his country through the years he served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. Upon returning to Jacksonville, Michael was employed by the City of Jacksonville for 20 years and provided outstanding service in the Clerk of the Courts Department and gained the admiration of his colleagues and supervisors. He transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on July 25, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his father – James McGee, Sr., step-father Obie Bowman and sister, Jamelle Thompson.
His life will be remembered by his loving and devoted mother, Joyce L. Bowman, children: Michelle Bowman, Allysha Rickerson, Jocelyn Williams, grandchildren: Tavares Rickerson, Tavarion Rickerson, Ja’Zaria Williams, Kobe Williams and Chole Williams; Sisters: Reatha Bowman, Obietta Richmond, Linda Caesar (Tallahassee, FL), Bridgett (Craig) McGee-Collins, (Port St. Joe, FL), Tammy Welch, (Port St. Joe, FL), Brothers: James (Jeanette) McGee, Jr.,( Clearwater, FL), Rodney (Connie) McGee, (Port St. Joe, FL), Danny McGee (Port St. Joe, FL), Rev. Danta’ (Toni) McGee, ( Panama City, FL), Andre McGee , (Gainesville, FL) , and DeWhy McGee, (Tampa, FL) , and a host of relatives and sorrowing friends.
The funeral service for Michael James Bowman will be held 11AM, Friday at the Greater Mt. Salem Baptist 2335 Moncrief Rd. The visitation will be 5 - 7PM, Thursday at the mortuary.
