Mildred Lee "Mildoo"  Bolden (Turner)
Mildred Turner Bolden passed away March 5, 2012. Her legacy will live on through the lives of her children, Richard L. Wilson, Jr. (Rochelle), Lawrence, Bruce and Roderick Wilson, Andre Bolden and Racquel Bolden-Lott (Ronald); two brothers, Rev. Porter Turner, Jr. and Rev. Isaac Murray (Bettye); one sister Gladys Murray; 25 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held 1PM, Saturday at the West Friendship Baptist Church 945 Carrie Street. The visitation will be 5-7PM, TODAY at the mortuary. Arrangements in care of Tyrone S. Life Story for Mildred Lee "Mildoo" Bolden (Turner)

Sister Mildred Lee Turner (once Wilson) Bolden was born on August 2nd, 1926 in West Palm Beach, Florida to the loving parents, Rev. Porter and Minnie Turner.
Her parents could tell at an early age that she was "something else". Singing and playing the piano was among her many talents. Her first debut was when she was crowned Miss May Day Queen at West Jacksonville Elementary. She was also a majorette at the Old Stanton High School Class of 1944.

Sister Bolden accepted Christ at a young age under the leadership of her father, Rev Porter Turner. Sister Bolden joined West Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Her parents Rev Porter and Minnie Turner were part of the forefathers that established the church in 1938. She was a faithful and committed servant to the Lord. She served as a Baptist Training Union Member, Choir Member, and Sunday School Teacher. Her membership stretches to 73 years.

She retired from the Hyde Park Nursing Home Facility as a Nursing Home Assistant.

Sister Bolden was known throughout the country for her culinary skills. She became famous for her homemade biscuits and "fiery hot" potato salad. She was affectionately known as Mildoo, Red, and Lil Duck by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents Rev Porter and Minnie Turner, a son Clifford Eddie and daughter Ylonda Bolden-Phillips.
Her legacy will live on through the lives of her children: Richard L. Wilson Jr. (Rochelle), Lawrence, Bruce, and Roderick Wilson, Andre Bolden and daughter, Racquel Bolden-Lott (Ronald); 2 Brothers: Rev. Porter Turner Jr. and Rev Issac Murray ( Bettye); 1 Sister Gladys Murray; 25 Grandchildren; 31 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, 1 God-son, Mikell Dixon and a host of Special Friends.

She also leaves to cherish her memory devoted caregivers in her last year of sickness; Shellina Hayes (granddaughter); Roberta Wilson( family member); Allison Harris (family friend); Kiwana Daniels(family friend);Willie James Shipman (special friend); Patricia Jones (neighbor); Angelina Owens (family friend); Barbara Lee(family friend), Dr Choice Home Health Care(Adie Jordan) and Aging True (Mrs. Denson).
