Obituary for Napoleon Moss

Napoleon  Moss
A Time To Be Born: Napoleon Moss was born on July 12, 1938 in Vidalia, Georgia to D. C. Napoleon and Maude Lee Smith.

A Time To Plant: Napoleon accepted Christ and joined Solid Rock Church, under the leadership of bishop Vernon Walker. He served as an Usher until his health failed him. Napoleon received his education in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He later joined the United States Navy, his rank was Petty officer second class and he served on the USS Simon Bolivar Submarine. After twenty two years of service Napoleon retired with an honorable discharge in 1974 as a Vietnam Veteran. Later he became employed with the United States Postal Service as a mail handler and served for twenty one years, retiring in 1998.

A Time To Love: Napoleon was united in Holy Matrimony to Bernice Patricia Frazier on February 21, 1969 in New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, in Charleston, South Carolina, and to this union three children were born.

A Time To Rest: Napoleon passed away peacefully at the age of 77, on September 10, 2015 at the VA Medical Hospital.

A Time To Mourn: Napoleon was preceded in death by his parents, D. C. Napoleon and Maude Moss-Crittenden; sister, Maudell Grant, and brother-in-laws, Lincoln Odum, and Aaron Sellers, Robert Frazier; sister-in-laws, Andrea Delvalle, and Margie Thomas.

Napoleon leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Bernice P. Moss, and to carry his legacy on will be his children, Michael Alexander (Kara), (San Diego, CA), April Renee, Bryan Christopher both of (Jacksonville, FL); sisters, Reatha Odum, (Atlanta, GA), and Rosemary Williamson (Harvey), (Jacksonville, FL); brothers, Larry Crittenden, (Jacksonville, FL), James Crittenden (Deleana), (Moss Point, MS); sisters-in-law, Catherine and Dorothy Frazier, Margaret E. Riggins (Bobby); brothers-in-law, Rev. Clarence E. Frazier (Thelma), Alexander R. Frazier (Trina) (All of Charleston, SC), John E. Frazier (Richardine), (Jacksonville, FL), Roger Grant, Sr., (Bowling Green, OH); grandchildren, Justin Moss, Ashley Moss, Jamari Simmons, Jaylen Simmons; aunts, Thelma Wright (Frank), (Goose Creek, SC), Janie Palmer, (Stone Mountain, GA), and Oree Bronaugh (Benjamin), (Goose Creek, SC), Dorothy Day (William), and Vera Ann Moss, (Atlanta, GA), Ruby Harkness (Chattanooga, TN), Mozell Warren (Offie) (Boston, MA), Rudell W. Joynes, (Norfolk, VA), Annette McClendon, and Anniebell Faulks, (Rahway, NJ); uncles, William Davis (Sandra), and Jerry Davis (Shirley), (Goose Creek, SC), Roosevelt Moss (Delores), and a host of other loving relatives, and friends.

The funeral service for Napoleon Moss will be held 11AM, Saturday, at the Solid Rock Church 12855 Old St. Augustine Road. The visitation will be 5 - 8PM , Friday, at the mortuary.
