Peter Homer Lee Lawson was born on July 11, 1929 to Hattie Williams and Earnest Lawson in Macon, Georgia. He confessed Christ at an early age uniting with Christ at Northside Church of Christ. Peter attended school in Macon, Georgia. He later met and married Dorthy Gordan in Jacksonville, Florida, from this union one daughter, Candace Vanetta Lawson was born.

Peter departed this life on Thursday, December 28, 2017. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hattie Williams; father, Ernest Lawson; wife, Dorthy Lawson; daughter, Candace V. Lawson; brother, Ernest Lawson; sister-in-law, Coretha Lawson and granddaughter, Tonya Lawson.

Peter leaves to mourn his passing a granddaughter, Nekema Michelle Lawson; great-grandsons, Torey Deon Reed J. and Phillip Sanchez Hartsfield; great-granddaughter, Sommur Candace Lawson and a host of other relatives.
