Robert “Smitty” Smith was born in Deland, Florida on August 28,1928 to the late Allie Dean Smith. He attended Euclid High School, after graduation he enlisted into the United States Navy.

Robert departed this life on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Smith; sister, Dorothy Brinson; sons, Terry Smith, Sr. and Tony Smith; grandson, TJ Smith and goddaughter Vevelt Griffin.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Mary Smith; daughters, Gurdis Brown and BJ Smith; son, Raheem Muhammad; sister-in-law, Earline Bing; brother-in-law, Theodore Jenkins; daughter-in-law, Charlena Smith Lattimore (Reggie); 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 lovely goddaughters; special thanks to niece, Pamela McMurren; extended family members, Wanda Jackson, Patricia Pearson, Patricia Woods and Sunny Johnson; and a host of two nieces, Peggy and Dorothy Jane and one nephew, Toney.

The funeral service for Robert Smith will be held 11am SATURDAY, December 2nd, 2017 at the Friendship Baptist Church 7141 New Kings Road. The visitation will be 5-7pm, FRIDAY at the mortuary.
