Obituary for Sammie Lee Peterson

Sammie Lee Peterson also known as “Candy Boy” was born in Albany, Georgia on May 3, 1926 to his parents the Late Sam and Carrie Peterson.

He attended local schools in Dougherty County in Georgia.

In December 18, 1944, Sammie Lee Peterson joined the military where he served our country, and his life as a veteran will always be remembered.

Sammie confessed Christ at an early age and later re-dedicated his life as a believer. He attended The Mighty Church of the Redeemed where he was baptized and served as a faithful member and head deacon for years.

Sammie was known for his carpentry and skillful work as a concrete finisher. Let’s not forget his hobbies as a collecter and fisherman.

He later met and married Frances G. Peterson in Jacksonville, FL on October 29, 1992 where they lived together in loving bliss for the last 22 years of his life.

Sammie Lee Peterson departed this life on January 25, 2015, and was preceded in death by his brother: Willie Lee Peterson, sister: Mary Lee Peterson. Sons: Theodis Peterson, Joseph-Michael Peterson, and Ronald Willis. Daughters: Mary Belle Jackson (Peterson), Sharon Peterson, Brenda Way, (Peterson).

He leaves to mourn his Wife: Frances G. Peterson, Sons:Tyrone Peterson (Sharon), Sammie Peterson, Kenneth Peterson (Sharon) Ernest Peterson, Johnny Peterson, and daughter Gwendolyn Bush. Brother: Elder Eddie Lee Peterson (Jewel), Step brothers: Deacon JD Armstrong and Deacon Frank Armstrong of Albany Ga. Special granddaughter: Latasha Diann Nash (Jackson) and a host of grand children, great grands and great-great grand children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
