Samuel  Bryant Sr.
Mr. Samuel Bryant, Sr. affectionately known as (Bubba Boo) was born September 26, 1926 to Joe Bryant and Fannie Mae Anderson in Sunbury, Georgia.

Samuel Confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church for 68 years. He was a member of Usher Board #2, where he also served as President until his death. Samuel was very active with the National Baptist Convention for several decades. He held numerous positions with the National Baptist Convention Ushers Association over the past years.

Samuel was employed with the Duval County School Board for 33 years, followed by the International Longshoreman's Association - 1408, which he retired from after more than 15 years of service. In his later days Samuel had a short illness and he was confined to his home; his daughter, Janice Samuels was his personal caretaker.

Samuel departed this life on December 19, 2015 and was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Bryant, and Fannie Mae Anderson; wife, Bernice Haywood; and brother, William Bryant.

Samuel leaves to mourn his children, Priscilla Hatch (James), Janice Samuels, Samuel Bryant, Jr. (Joy); sister, Mary Davis of Brunswick, Georgia; brother, Joe Bryant of Hinesville, Georgia; aunt, Maggie Simpson (104 years old); godson, Alvis Kellam; grandchildren, Willie D. Brown (Robin), Sabrinia Wyche (Huntis Sr.), Synetress Claxton (Glennille), Tajh Samuels, Syntrese Samuels, Donovan Brown, Joshua Bryant, Imani Brown; great-grandchildren, Fadante Daniels, Calise Knight (Rashad), Hurtis Wyche, Jr., Chumani, Zavontez Claxton, Quilliam Claxton, Rebecea Brown, Graylin Brown; great-great-grandchildren, Rasheen Knight, and Rhylan Knight; and a host of other relatives.


The funeral service for Samuel Bryant, Sr. will be held 1:00 PM SATURDAY at the Greater Macedonia Baptist Church 1880 Edgewood Ave W, The visitation will be 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Thursday at the mortuary.
