Obituary for Sandra J West

Sandra J  West
Sandra J. West, was born on November 3, 1953, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Elizabeth Ross and Jessie Lee Jackson. Sandra confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and last attended Murray Hill Christ Community Church. Upon completing high school, Sandra pursued a higher education degree at FSCJ.

Sandra was employed for many years at University Hospital, which later the name changed to Methodist Medical Center and currently called, UF Health (Shands), where she was loved by many. She later met and married Johnny West and from that union a son, Johnny West, Jr., and two daughters, Deidre D. Jackson and DeShondra L. Brown was born.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Jackson and Jessie Lee Jackson; sister, Jessica Jenkins (Julius Jenkins) and brother-in-law, James Walton. She departed this life on January 28, 2015.

Sandra leaves to cherish her memories, three children, Deidre D. Jackson, Johnny West, Jr., and DeShondra L. Brown (Cedric A. Brown); seven grandchildren, Terrance L. Jackson, Ter’Chell L. Jackson, Ter’rekia L. Jackson, Tandre L. Jackson, Deja R. West, Cedric A. Brown, II, and Johnny West, III; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Claretha Walton, Debra Flemming and Bonita Jackson; a special extended family UF Heath (Shands); along with a special and confident friend, Marie Jackson (Timothy Jackson) who was like a daughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and love ones.

The graveside service for Sandra J West will be held 11AM, Saturday at the Edgewood Cemetery 4519 Edgewood Drive. The visitation will be 5 - 7PM, Friday at the mortuary.
