Obituary for Stephanie L Ricks

Stephanie L  Ricks
Stephanie L. Ricks was born on December 16, 1960 to the late Ms. Lizzie Ricks and Sgt. Willie Roger Williams in Sumter, South Carolina. The family moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut, when Stephanie was a child, where she received her early education. Her college studies were at Bennett College and Montclaire State College, Montclaire, New Jersey.

Stephanie worked for many years with the State of Connecticut, Department of Social Services until her retirement in 2005. Later the family relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where she joined the Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor H.B. Charles. She was a member of District 35, Deacon Napaleon, her leader. Stephanie was an avid traveler who loved her sons and family.

Stephanie departed this life on Friday, September 7, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, David and Mitch Ricks.

In much sorrow, Stephanie leaves behind two sons, Taurice Ricks and Sterlin Ricks; brother, Bobby Ricks (Atlanta, Georgia); niece, Debbie Ricks (Bridgeport, Connecticut); two nephews, David Ricks, Jr. and Gerald Austin (Bridgeport, Connecticut) and a host of cousins, uncles and aunts living in Sumter, South Carolina, Jacksonville and Miami.
