Obituary for SUSIE IZELLA MCMORRIES -HAYDEN
Susie Izella McMorries-Hayden was born on October 9, 1945 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Roderick Eugene McMorries, Sr. and Harriett Costello McMorries. Susie was the 3rd of five children. She attended St. Pius Catholic School, graduating from New Stanton High School in 1965.
Susie became a “Candy-Striper” at Duval Medical Center at the age of fourteen, she knew at six years old that her life calling was to be a nurse to help those who needed her the most. Mrs. Hayden attended and graduated from Duval Medical School and fulfilled her dreams by becoming an LPN. Believing in love, sharing, and caring, for others she worked until the end of her journey.
Susie was called from labor to reward on December 1, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.
Susie leaves to cherish her memories her children: Ms. Ingrid Hayden Fletcher and Cordell Hayden; grandchildren, Mario Fletcher, John Jay Snead, Michael Fletcher, Jr., and Johnathan Fletcher; nieces, Latrel McGhee, Avie McMorries, Shae Marshall, Jocelyn Paulk-Wells, Francina Alston-Valdez, Lavonda Scruggs-Todd, Sandra Jean Small and Bridget Allen; nephews, Sheldon McMorries, Brandon McMorries, Omar Curtis, Eugene Barnes, and Robert Gorden; and a host of other relatives and friends. Also her favorite cat “Shar”.
The funeral service for SUSIE IZELLA MCMORRIES -HAYDEN will be held 11:00 am TUESDAY at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel, 4315 N. Main St The visitation will be 5 - 7:00 pm , Monday at the mortuary. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery. Please sign the family guest book and view the video tribute @ www.tswarden.com.
