My heart goes out to the Irby family for there are no words of comfort that can ease the sorrow of this moment. Telly was a good friend, teammate and person. The night I received the news I began watching highlight videos of BHS football and #47 stood as the commander and chief of our defense. I wept for hours. On the field Telly was the intimidator but off the field he was a comedian. He loved to laugh and I will always remember that best. My heart is extremely heavy as I draft this message but I do so knowing that he is in the comfort of a new team – a heavenly team – with Scrap Garnett and Frank Limehouse to welcome him. Rest in peace my friend.
