Mr. Walter C. Cooper Sr. 69, a native of Nassau County and well known resident of Callahan, Florida passed away Thursday morning April 25, 2013.
Known as “Money” to all he was born August 28, 1943 to Mr. Perry Cooper and Mrs. Corinne Williams Wilbert. He was raised by his beloved grandmother, Mrs. Nellie Williams whom he admired and loved dearly.
He graduated from Pine Forest High School in Callahan in 1961. He was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator with St. John Power Plant in Jacksonville, Florida and retired after twenty-four years of service. His hobbies included fishing and being a fixer-upper. He loved trying to fix things around his house.
He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Callahan where Rev. Marva Mitchell is the Pastor
He is preceded by his Grandmother Nellie, Mother, Corinne, Father, Perry Sr., Brothers Leroy Wilbert, and James Arthur Wilbert.
He leaves to cherish his memories wife Joann Cooper of Callahan, Fl (4) children, Prophetess Victoria Cooper Milton of Callahan, Fl, Rev. Walter Cooper Jr. of Callahan, Fla., Pastor Keva Hampton, of Jacksonville, Fl., and Terri Cooper of Jacksonville, Fl., and their mother Apostle Edith Jones of Jacksonville, Fl. (2) step-children Mark Williams, of London, England and Sean Williams (Erica) of Jacksonville, Fl (8) grandchildren Norris Milton Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., Sharena Milton Webb (Demarquis Sr.), of Jacksonville, Fl., Terrence Milton, of Atlanta, Ga., Whitney Cooper of Tallahassee, Fl., Chris Milton, of Atlanta, Ga., Auzena Cooper Hampton, of Jacksonville, Fla., Erin Cooper, of Callahan, Fla., and Jacob Cooper, of Callahan, Fla. He was born August 28, 1943 in Nassau County, Fl. to the late Perry Cooper and Corrine Williams Wilbert. Walter was a graduate of Pine Forest High School in Callahan, Fl, and was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Callahan. He retired from St. John Power Plant in Jacksonville, Fl. He survived by wife, Joann Cooper, son, Rev. Walter Cooper Jr., daughters Prophetess Victoria Cooper Milton, Pastor Keva Cooper Hampton, and Terri Cooper. 8 grand-children, 1 great-grandson, 3 brothers, 7 sisters and host of other relatives and friends. A wake will be held Friday, May 3, 2013 from 5-8PM at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Callahan, Fl., and Funeral services will be held 11AM, Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the True Believers Church of God by Faith 45083 White Road Callahan, Fl.,.
