Obituary for Willie James Setzler

Willie James  Setzler
Willie James Setzler was born on September 9, 1943 in Jacksonville, Florida to the parentage of Clarence and Eva Mae Setzler. He received his education attending various public schools in Duval County. In 1969, he met the love of his life, Sharon Brayboy, after dating for a few years they united in holy matrimony in 1972. They settled in Jacksonville, raising their family together. Willie was a dedicated husband and father, working hard at various jobs to provide for them.

Willie enjoyed his life, often playing golf with his father-in-law. As an avid dog lover, his favorite pets were 'Bill' whom he had for 10 years; and his current favorite 'Goliath.'

Willie departed this life on Monday, February 29, 2016. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Golden Boynton; grandson, Mister Willie James; brothers, Clarence, George, and Oneal.

Willie leaves to cherish fond memories his wife of 43 years, Sharon Brayboy Setzler; daughters, Shiffonda Setzler (LaMont), Ebony Golden, Tammy Parker (Curtis), and Sabrina Philpot; grandchildren, Jamie, Tazra, Carley, Connell, Anthony, Cedric, Generrall, Shafonda, Jerome, Eric, Andre, Larry, and Marcus; sisters, Mary Taylor (Leo) and Ernestine Miller; many devoted nieces, nephews, in-laws, godchildren, other relatives, and friends.

The memorial service for Willie James Setzler will be held 11AM, Saturday, March 12th, 2016 at the Samuel C. Rogers Jr. Memorial Chapel 4315 N. Main Street. The visitation will be 5 - 7PM , Friday, March 11th, 2016 at the mortuary. Interment is Private. Please sign the family guest book @ www.tswarden.com. Arrangements in care of Tyrone S.
