Obituary for Yvonne Lillian "Bonnie" Sims
Yvonne Lillian Sims was born on February 6, 1952 to John H. Collins and Doris A. Sims in Jacksonville, Florida. She attended the local schools of Duval County, graduating from Eugene J. Butler High School. Yvonne worked for the Duval County School Board, retiring after 30 years of service. Yvonne was a member of Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert Herring, she served in District 11 and her leader was Deacon Eddie L. Prime.
Yvonne departed this life on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Collins and Doris Sims; brother, Earl W. Sims.
Yvonne leaves to cherish her memories a sister, Alberta Sims Curry; adopted son, Willie Albert Lane; cousins, David Hagler and Pauline Durben; best friends, Shirley Rogers-Woodard, Frank and Emma Rogers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
