Thank You, Lawrence

                                                                                                                     May 2015

Lawrence,

I thank you for the talks.  Every time I talked with you, I felt like I had your undivided attention.  Your focus was me, what was going on in my life, and if there was anything you could do to help.  You always let me know that you were there for Kayla and me.  Though I would turn the conversation to you, you would always find a way to flip it back to me.  You were good at doing that.  Thank you for caring.

I thank you for the laughter.  I could always count on you for a good laugh.  I will miss that.  Your emails brightened my day and let me know that you were thinking of me.  I will recall your laugh whenever I am feeling sad because it will put a smile on my face.  Thank you.

I appreciate you always having time to talk and share your thoughts and wisdom with me.  I appreciate you also making me feel smart and accepting what little wisdom I had to pass along.  I count it a privilege and honor to have had you as a mentor in my life.  I will recall your wisdom and cling to it in the days and months ahead to comfort me and my siblings.  I will be strong for you and for them.

There are so many qualities about you that would fill a book, but I will end with your heart.  Your heart is as big as they come.  You extend yourself to all without thought.  All feel welcome in your presence.  When you love someone, it is unconditional and without end.  I count myself blessed to consider you my stepdad, not once but twice ... forever.  Thank you for loving me as if I were your own, despite the circumstances.

Into Paradise may the Angels lead you.

Rest in Peace.
