A Dear Aunt

I remember moving to Jacksonville  in the 50's to live with my Aunt Bertha and Uncle John.  I am the Neice of her husband, she welcomed me into her home and her heart, I was 10 years old at the time.  I filled the place of the little girl that she always wanted.  She bought me nice clothes and pretty bows and ribbons for my hair.  She taught me how to be a lady, the importance of getting an education, how to respect others and to love myself.

I was given opportunities that I would not have been given coming from the rural area where I lived.  I appreciate everything she did for me and all the good values she instilled in me.  We will miss her.  But I believe she lived a full life.  She was very passionate about her job as a teacher, she taught students with specal needs.

Thank You Aunt Bertha
