From Your Firstborn Angel

Mom, I will miss how you always made me laugh and how you taught us to always pray and trust in God. I will miss your delicious cooking. You could take nothing and make it into something gourmet. I will miss watching the football games with you because you would get so excited. You taught us to be strong and independent. I appreciate how you worked so hard to provide for us. I remember the night Meme and I were fighting silently in the room. You were walking past the room and you backed up and came in and beat us with the belt. We never fought again. We laughed so hard when you left the room. I also remember one night you came home from work and we forgot to take the top locks off the door and you said you knocked on the door for 15 minutes and once we finally unlocked the door, it was 2 AM. You made us get up and clean up, but there was nothing to clean up because the house was so clean, you could eat off the floor. We laughed because there was nothing that needed to be clean. Thank you for the good times, bad times, hard times, but most of all, thank you for your love and your strength. I will miss your pretty smile. You were a very strong woman and dedicated to God. I know you are resting in peace. I love you.
