My First Kindergarten Friend

I met Fran in Kindergarten class at PS 119 in New York, New York and we instantly became best friends.  Her favorite pastimes were collecting seashells and walking on the beach. She loved the beach, Jacksonville Jaguars and the Annual Jacksonville Jazz Festival and would always get her VIP Seating!   I still remembered those days listening to Janis Joplin, while we sang the lyrics, Fran  played air guitar.  She had her own fashion style.  I remember her teenage phrase; she wore two different colored thigh high stocking, one black stocking and one white stocking.  Two of her favorite groups she enjoyed listening to were Earth Wind and Fire and Chicago

She was a very giving person, always remembered birthdays and gave gifts to her friends;  seashell ornaments, key chains, and plants, etc.  Fran gave my daughter Jasmine a cactus plant and told her how to care for it; she named it Fran in memory of her.  She was a very loving and caring person, who put other people cares before her own.  We called her Bubbly because of her cheerful disposition.  Fran was a very energetic person and marched to the beat of her own drum and never let anyone change who she was.  She did what she wanted, when she wanted and how she wanted.   She was everyone’s nutritionist whether they asked for her advice or not.  Her excitement was contagious, if you were going somewhere with her she would have a way of drawing you in. She would always make you feel good when you were around her.  She left us a legacy of good memories to enjoy life to the fullest.  Fran will be missed and loved by many!

The best gift Fran ever gave me was her friendship.  I love you Fran and I miss you and will never forget you!

                                                                                                                                Rest in Peace Fran
