Obituary

Obituary for Katheryn Arlelia Coleman

Katheryn Arlelia Coleman was born Katheryn Arlelia Strawter, to Freddie
and Helen Strawter, on November 19, 1960, in Saint Augustine, Florida. Katheryn met her
demise on January 15, 2020, and was preceded in death by her spouse, Kevin Coleman; mother,

Kathy attended public schools in St. Augustine, FL, where she graduated from St. Augustine
High School in 1978, and later relocated to Miami, FL. Soon after she enlisted in the United
States Army, where she served four years and received an honorable discharge.

She returned to Florida and settled in Jacksonville, where she became gainfully employed by
the Federal Reserve Bank. She attended college at Florida State College of Jacksonville, where
she received an AA Degree in Finance and Accounting. She moved on to First Union Bank,
which changed to Wachovia, then Wells Fargo, there she retired in 2018, after thirty years of
employment.

Kathy accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior early in her life and was baptized.
She recently rededicated her life to Christ and joined fellowship with Open Arms Community
Church in 2019, under the leadership of Bishop Leofric Thomas, Sr.

She leaves to cherish and share precious memories: her son, Marque Andrae Strawter; siblings,

I knew you from Birth. I watched you grow from a toddler, to a little girl, to a teenager, and blossom into a woman. Everyday after school you and I would go to JoJo's for hotdogs - we ran Mama credit bill up. You were my little champ though, whenever I had to babysit you, Richard, and Jerry - you would fight sleep just to stay up with me because I was scary...your eyes would be stretched so big. Another memorable moment was when you tried to wake me up and couldn't, so you poured water up my nose... I woke up screaming, and you said, " I shake ya, and I shake ya, but you won't wake up". You my LiL Boo, baby boo, my boo boo baby.
I love you beyond the stars and back. MY HEART IS BROKEN...MISSING YOU, ALWAYS. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE OUR BABY GIRL, MY ENDLESS LOVE.

My Sister, "Babygirl", that was my term of endearment for her. She was/is my baby sister, the one that I held close when she came home from the Army. I felt the need to help care for her and my young nephew, Marque, who was only a month old when they arrived at my home. But little did I know; she didn't need my help or protection because, she has always been ambitious, determined, and fearless. I will miss you bunches Sis, but I know you're at peace now, so rest well my little sister, see ya later!
