May 6, 2011 To the of Family My Friend Thomasina Jones I would like to say, Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift. I know that I met the right person in My Friend Thomasina, she was a big sister to me a mother figure, my confidante, a co-worker, and she truly was my go to person for any and everything. She was the epitome of a best friend, the kind you sit on the porch with out never saying a word, and walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you’ve ever had, that was how my friend was, always caring, kind words, and pitching in when needed. And we did have front porch moments at 2109 W.16th Street. What fun we had: It’s true that we don’t know what we’ve got until we lose it, but it’s also true that we don’t know what we’ve been missing until it arrives. I met Thomasina in 1989 and we enjoyed each others company at work, at church and at play. For the one’s of you that knew us from work at BC/BS. Just to add a little humor, remember our Salt N Pepper skit, she was Salt, and I was Pepper, and we won first place, what great memories for all of us. To Her Children: She loved her children immensely; we often talked about and prayed together for our children and grandchildren. We are all saddened by her death and we will all miss her dearly, so to my Friend Thomasina, I pray that I see you on the other side. Love Pat McQueen Pepper
