My Friend and Classmate

Velvet Taylor Griffin was a much loved member of the Jacksonville Northside community and a life long friend. This tragic accident took the life of a very special person, a strong daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a stalwart supporter of the Ribault Trojans High School Alumni Association and in particular the Trojans Class of 80 - Velvet was our rock. She was my dear friend with a beautiful smile since grade school, kindergarten at Rufus E. Payne, playing on Hema Road, in Singleton Park, buying candy at Mr Williams store, running between the fields behind your house, growing up via Oceanway, as a Colt at 'Bault Jr High and a loyal Trojan at Ribault Senior. I am in shock, in mourning and hurting badly on your loss. We are all heart broken and suffering greatly on her loss...God Bless Velvet and family.
